Blooms and hurricanes

Yippee! I actually received my Bloomin' Feet socks on Saturday from the lovely Kate in Mass who lives fairly close to my sister and her family. She knit me Jaywalkers in Hello yarn (another yarn company that I have admired from afar but hadn't gotten around to purchasing yet). They fit like a glove and are very snuggly! Thanks ever so much!

I wanted to blog right away about my new Jaywalkers but the last several days have been really hard on me...bad RA attack and we can't figure out why. Usually it is because of a sudden change in weather or rain that sets it off. Haven't gotten much sleep and have been utterly exhausted...I don't know how I got to work today. TG, E had a doctor's appointment so I could leave early. I didn't quite get all the goodies that I had envisioned together for my Bloomin' Feet pal...I did get the package out with the promise of the last item to come (I need sewing machine help!)

Also a status report on my hurricane socks...I knew right away that I wanted to knit the Circle of Friendship socks for my pal and that I wanted her to experience Black Bunny Fiber. So when Carol had one of her shop updates I snatched up her sock yarn in Primavera. Carol had an update today but the plum and green colorway that I had my eye on was snatched away. Up next will be Horcrux socks in her velvet painting colorway. So I am about 3 rows away from finishing the heel and off to turn the heel.

And here is the loot that I picked up in the yarn swap, the "girls" did a little over a week ago. Got some Mama E from Alyson and Dyed Monarch from Leslie...destined to be Hederas and a Horcrux for E.

Nice jaywalkers! I hope the RA is better. I think there was a big change in the weather this week. All the sudden it is really humid. I even turned on my A/C. Maybe the humidity caused it? Hope you're feeling better.

Hi Phoebe, thanks for commenting on my blog. I didn't have your EM address so I thought I would leave a comment here. You inquired about the lavendar honey. I purchased this at a Williams Sonoma store here in Birmingham. If you don't have a shop locally check to see if they sell it online. If not, let me know, I'll be happy to get a jar for you and ship it to you!! Crazy For Yarn In Alabama.

Hi Phoebe - I just saw your comment on Mustaa Villaa (gorgeous socks, aren't they?) and you were wondering about Ravelry. Don't worry! I think at last count there were 3000 people who ahd left there details wanting to jjoin, and they are sending out invites gradually, so as to be able to keep up (it is being run by 2 people with fulltime jobs, you see). You will get your invite, and I'm sure you'll love it. get photographing all your WIPs, and FOs and stash in the meantime,a nd uploading them to Flickr, then you'll be good to go straight away!

    Hope that helps...

PS your socks look lovely too.
